Teenager Returns to Foster Home After Missing for Four Months

A teenager who went missing four months ago was reported as returning home safely after a four month long absence from home. The 14 year-old schoolboy went missing on September 9 from his hometown in Gillingham.
Initially, the school boy, believed to be a runaway, kept in contact with Medway police officers as well as social workers assigned to his case. However, when the young teen’s phone calls to the Medway missing persons’ officer finally stopped concern began to mount over the whereabouts of the boy.
After the calls ceased coming in police began to ask the local public to help locate the teen. The teenage, who had been in foster care prior to skipping town, returned home of his own accord on New Year’s Day. Prior to that efforts to locate the boy had proved fruitless.
A spokesman for the Medway police authorities said that Simon had previously been residing with families in Bristol and then the Luton areas. Although the boy contacted his assigned social worker a number of times, officials became concerned over the boy’s whereabouts when the calls became less frequent.
Prior to returning home on New Year’s day, the boy had ceased to contact his social worker altogether. The police issued a statement upon the boy’s return thanking the media and the public for their efforts in helping to locate Simon.A teenager who went missing four months ago was reported as returning home safely after a four month long absence from home.
